Adding exercise videos, creating training programs and onboarding your first client

Before you create a training program, your first task is to add exercises to your Exercise Library.


Uploading exercises to your Exercise Library:

  • Go to the Exercises tab and click the "+ New Exercise" button.
  • Fill in all the relevant fields (Name of the exercise, Muscles worked in this exercise and Exercise description to give your Client cues about the exercise). Whatever data you type in here, your Client can see it.
  • Uploading your exercise video: You can upload your exercise video directly by uploading it from your device. If you already have a video library on YouTube or Vimeo, you can click the "Add external link" button and paste the link to your video.
  • Click the "Save" button to add this video to your Exercise library.


Pro tip: Here's how to upload multiple exercises to your Exercise library - Click the "+ New Exercise" button and add as many exercises as you need; fill in all the relevant fields and click "Save" to add all these videos at once to your Exercise library.


Creating a Training program:

  • Go to the Programs tab and click the "+ New Program" button.
  • Fill in all the relevant fields (Program name, Program start date, Program objective). Whatever data you type in here, your Client can see it.
  • Click the "Next" button to enter Program creation mode.
  • Enter the title for the training day. e.g., Upper body
  • Click the "+ Group" button to create an exercise group. e.g., Warmup
  • Click the "+ Exercise" button to add an exercise to the exercise group.
  • Click on the "Select an exercise" tile and choose whether you want to prescribe a strength or endurance exercise.

Prescribing a Strength or Endurance exercise:

Prescribing a Strength exercise: If you choose to prescribe a strength exercise, select the exercise you want to prescribe to your Client from the drop-down box, which includes the list of exercises from your Exercise Library. Enter the number of sets and repetitions you want your Client to do. The rest duration is optional. If you don't fill in the rest duration, it won't be visible to your Client. You can choose whether this exercise is a Bodyweight or Weighted exercise. If it's a weighted exercise, you can select whether the weights are dumbbells, plates or an empty bar.

Prescribing an Endurance exercise: If you prescribe an endurance exercise, let's say you want a client to walk for 30 minutes. You would enter the name of the activity as Walk, Sets/rounds as 1 and Duration as "30 minutes". If you want, you can choose to enter the pace as well. Whatever fields you enter the data for, only that would be visible to your Client.

  • Click "Save" to prescribe the chosen Strength or Endurance exercise.


Adding a new training day:

  • You can click the "+ Training day" button to add a new training day to your program.


Copying a training day:

  • You can copy a training day by clicking the copy icon next to the title of the training day and clicking the highlighted "paste day" icon.
  • Once you're done adding exercises to your training days, you can click the "Create" button to create your training program.


Onboarding your Client:

  • Go to the "Clients" tab and click the "+ New Client" button.
  • Enter the First name, Last name and email address of the Client.
  • Click the "Send invite" button to send an invite link to your Client's email address.
  • Your Client will be invited to create an account. If they can't find this automated email, it should be in their promotions/spam folder.
  • Once they create an account, you can find their account under the Clients tab.


Assigning a training program to your Client:

  • Go to the "Programs" tab and click the "Assign" icon.
  • Select the name of the Client to whom you want to assign this program.


Note: Assigning a program assigns this program to your Client. If you want your Client to be able to use a Program, you must set this program as the current one.


  • To set a program as the current program, go to the "Clients" tab and select the Client's name.

Under "Current program" click the "Edit" button and select the program you want to set as the Client's current program.

  • Click the "Set as current program" button to set this program as the Client's current program.


Now, when your Client logs into their account on www.applecheesecake.in, they can train with this as their current program.
